UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) continues to recognize high-achieving students through its 2026 Golden Ticket pathway. Triven Ihad Prasetya has secured a place in the undergraduate Accounting program after being named the top participant in the Social and Humanities (Soshum) category at the Airlangga Science Olympics (OSA). His achievement reflects sustained dedication and careful preparation to gain admission to his dream university.
Dominance and persistence in the Airlangga Science Olympics
Prasetya’s success began with his participation in OSA, held on December 13 to 14, 2025, at UNAIR’s Campus C. The competition was highly competitive, drawing around 6,000 participants, with nearly 2,800 in the Soshum category. Participants were required to complete 100 questions covering economics, history, mathematics, and sociology-anthropology, assessed using the Item Response Theory (IRT) system. This marked his second attempt after previously competing in 11th grade.
He expressed surprise at the outcome. “I was very happy and didn’t expect to win, especially to be ranked first among thousands of participants from across Indonesia,” Prasetya explained. He added that the strict scoring system initially made him uncertain, but the final result proved otherwise. “When UNAIR contacted me to receive the award on the first day of AEE, I was genuinely surprised,” he recalled. This achievement opened his pathway to the Accounting program without having to go through the highly competitive regular admission track.
Track record of national achievements in economics and taxation
Prasetya’s OSA victory was not by chance, but the result of consistent achievements throughout his high school years. His focus on economics is reflected in multiple awards at national university-level competitions. In October 2025, he secured third place in a national economics competition at Universitas Gadjah Mada, followed by first place in an economics competition at Universitas Negeri Malang in November 2025. These accomplishments highlight his long-standing interest in accounting and related fields.
One of his most memorable experiences was competing in the High School Tax Competition organized by PKN STAN. He traveled to the institution’s main campus in Bintaro, South Tangerang, to represent his school at the national level. “I went to STAN’s main campus to compete on behalf of my school,” Prasetya noted. He also won an economics olympics at Universitas Negeri Surabaya. This strong portfolio in economics and taxation convinced the UNAIR Golden Ticket selection panel of his readiness to pursue accounting at the university level.
Preparing for campus life and expectations for AMERTA 2026
After securing the Golden Ticket, Prasetya is now preparing to begin his academic journey as an Accounting student. Although the official SNBP announcement is scheduled for late March, his position is already secured through his achievement. He is now looking ahead to UNAIR’s student orientation program, AMERTA.
His enthusiasm is evident as he anticipates this new chapter. “I’m really curious and excited to see what AMERTA 2026 will be like. That’s when I’ll officially be inaugurated as a new student,” Prasetya said. For him, the transition from high school to university marks an exciting new phase. Equipped with a strong competitive background and proven achievements, he aims to grow into a professional accountant with integrity in the future.
