Embryo SDGs Center
The head of the Public Relations Bureau, Gunawan, explained that the purpose of UMS’s visit to UNAIR was to question not only the QS and THE rankings but also learn about the management of the SDGs Center as UMS just newly established its SDGs center.
“First, I’d like to convey that the purpose of our visit here is more than just a ranking. However, discussing UMS’s property, the SDGs Center embryo. In December, we decided that UMS started to get serious about SDGs but did not have enough experience to manage them,” he said.

THE Impact UNAIR
Furthermore, Bayu Arie explained that UNAIR’s SDGs Center only started its endeavor in 2022. However, participation in THE Impact Rankings has been running since 2019. In THE Impact Rankings, we can choose to follow all the goals or just a few.
“As we know, THE Impact SDGs has 17 goals related to Sustainable Development. These goals refer to aspects of the economy, health, education, gender health, water and clean energy, and so on. In 2022, we focused on all these goals,” he said.
“No study programs at UNAIR are related to SDGs, so last year, we launched a handbook series from UNAIR. Hopefully, in the future, we can make a book and, of course, coordinate the community services,” he added.
Every UNAIR publication, he continued, must include the SDGs keyword. He hopes that every researcher can manage this. “Furthermore, we have also subscribed to UNAIR Scholars to check the number of publications from researchers that address the SDGs,” he concluded.
