Of these, 22,852 applied to undergraduate (S1) programs, while 7,095 applied for Diploma 3 (D3) and Diploma 4 (D4) programs. With a total capacity of 2,430 seats, the acceptance rate was approximately 8.11 percent.
“This year, interest in Universitas Airlangga through the SNBP pathway has been exceptionally high, with 29,947 applicants competing for 2,430 available seats, resulting in an acceptance rate of around 8.11 percent,” Prof. Madyan said.
Following the selection process, UNAIR admitted 2,506 new students. This total includes 806 recipients of the Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) Kuliah, reflecting the university’s commitment to expanding equitable access to higher education.
“From this highly competitive selection process, Universitas Airlangga admitted 2,506 students, including 806 KIP Kuliah recipients and 68 golden ticket awardees. This demonstrates our continued commitment to inclusive and equitable education,” he added.
Diversity and unique characteristics of new students
The composition of UNAIR’s incoming class highlights strong diversity. Around 75.5 percent are female students, representing all 38 provinces in Indonesia, as well as international backgrounds. The rector also noted several distinctive aspects of this year’s SNBP results, including the admission of younger students aged between 14 and 16, along with several pairs of twins accepted into different study programs.
“This year also presents several unique highlights, including the admission of students as young as 14 to 16 years old, as well as multiple pairs of twins enrolled in different study programs,” he explained.
These outcomes further reinforce UNAIR’s commitment to developing graduates who not only excel academically but also demonstrate integrity and meaningful contributions to society.
Message for unsuccessful applicants
During the same announcement, UNAIR also addressed applicants who were not admitted through the SNBP pathway this year. Prof. Madyan encouraged them to remain optimistic and persistent in pursuing higher education opportunities.
“We would like to encourage our prospective students who were not successful in this year’s SNBP pathway to stay motivated and not lose hope. Opportunities to join Universitas Airlangga are still available through the SNBT pathway and various independent admission schemes,” he concluded.
