UNAIR NEWS – Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) provide scholarship opportunities for Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) students. Through the “Discover NUS” scholarship program, talented students from Universitas Airlangga have the chance to pursue their dreams of studying abroad at one of the world’s leading universities.

This collaboration is expected to serve as a bridge for individuals to enhance their educational quality and a tangible step towards advancing higher education in Indonesia. AGE and NUS believe that investing in education will produce quality future leaders with global influence.

In this year’s “Discover NUS” event, Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) is only targeting D4 and undergraduate students in their fourth semester. Astria Okta explained that this program is only eligible for fourth-semester students as they are considered mature enough to continue their studies abroad. Additionally, the scholarship program is also UNAIR’s effort to prevent delays in graduation for fifth-semester and above students.

“In addition to fourth-semester students being eligible to participate, all interested applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.00. Students must also have proficient English language skills both orally and in writing,” said Astria on Saturday, Feb 24, 2024.

The prospective participants must also prepare several required documents such as a recommendation letter from their faculty, curriculum vitae (CV), a valid English language certificate, and an academic transcript in English. All documents must be submitted by March 1, 2024, to the email outbound@global.unair.ac.id and the result will be announced on March 8, 2024.

In addition to providing information about documents and requirements, this year’s “Discover NUS” also includes a sharing session. The sharing session aims to provide direct insight to participants about how the Discover NUS program will proceed in the future.

Meanwhile, Alvin Andika, a Universitas Airlangga student who graduated from the Discover NUS program last year, shared his experience. “If you have the opportunity to study at NUS through the Discover NUS program, you will have the chance to build relationships with people from all over the world. In my batch alone, there were at least eleven people from various countries, and I am proud of the experience,” he said.

Alvin also explained that during his study, NUS will continuously monitor the academic activities of all participants. NUS will conduct regular evaluation activities every week. From these evaluations, hopefully, all participants can make their best contributions and have the opportunity to continue their Master’s scholarship at NUS later on.

Finally, Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) also explained that NUS offers a variety of study programs. All participants are free to choose the study program they desire, but it should also align with their current educational background.
