UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has marked the launch and distribution of 10,000 Ramadan Berkah packages as part of its annual Berkah Ramadan 1446H initiative. The event, led by UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih MT Ak CA, took place at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) lobby on Saturday (March 22, 2025).

The ceremony was attended by UNAIR’s vice rectors, department heads, and faculty deans. Representatives of the beneficiaries—including orphans, Go-Jek drivers, underprivileged families, and KIP-K scholarship students were also present. In addition to food aid, UNAIR distributed school supplies, such as backpacks, to orphans.

Ten thousand aid packages distributed

The Berkah Ramadan program is an annual initiative by UNAIR. In its first year, UNAIR distributed 10,000 packages, while last year’s event saw the distribution of 8,000 packages.

“We may strive for efficiency in our work, but when it comes to charity, we must give our absolute best,” said Prof. Nasih. He further emphasized that the program reflects UNAIR’s broader commitment to social responsibility.

Berkah Ramadan Safari covers 23 cities and districts

Beyond the on-site distribution, Ramadan Blessing Packages will be delivered to 23 cities and districts throughout East Java and Madura. This year, UNAIR has mobilized 70 vehicles for the distribution process. “Additionally, UNAIR has partnered with JTV to help facilitate this year’s delivery efforts,” said Dr. Eko Supeno, Drs, MSi, Head of Partnerships and Development Management Board (BKMP) UNAIR.

Rector Prof. Nasih personally flagged off the Berkah Ramadan Safari distribution vehicles. Dr. Supeno also announced that UNAIR would launch Berkah Ramadan on the Road next week. “This next phase will focus on reaching communities that were not covered in today’s distribution. Eventually, our efforts will extend beyond city limits as well,” he concluded.
