UNAIR NEWS – Human Resource Management (HRM) is an essential division of a company. It is assigned to manage human resources within the company so that they can run their respective roles properly.
As the pandemic recedes, the dynamic nature of HRM field will also shift. Responding to the transformation, the Organizational Development and Research Manager of Nutrifood Indonesia Herman Yosef Paryono disclosed the HRM strategy prediction in a webinar held by the UNAIR Directorate of Career Development, Incubation, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Affairs (DPKKA).
Hybrid and Network
The work from home (WFH) system commonly adopted during pandemics was predicted to last with several developments. “Survey in some renowned companies found improved effectiveness and productivity when employees can work from anywhere and anytime,” he said.
The company should evolve and adjust the facility and regulations to support the working system. One of the facilities provided by PT Nutrifood is the Nutrihub coworking space that is available in some cities in Indonesia.
Apart from improving employees’ work effectiveness and convenience in the workplace, the system is predicted to attract young talents to work for the company.
Not necessarily implemented by all companies
The practitioner with experience in the fields of human resources, digital transformation, and business strategy for more than ten years dismissed the idea that all companies must implement the working system. “It’s safe to say that the system has become the latest trend, though, it does not necessarily have to be adopted by all companies,” he said.
Getting familiar with Artificial Intelligence Technology
Regardless, artificial intelligence technology (AI) makes human lives much easier. In the future, technology is going to be a resource that becomes a part of HRM discourse analysis.
“Nowadays, repetitive tasks have been automatically done by robots. By 2025, the level of automation using machines is predicted to increase by around 14 percent. Therefore, HR will not only manage humans as resources but also manage HR interactions with AI,” he added.
The webinar conducted on June 18, 2022, is a part of the Airlangga Entrepreneur Club webinar series that can be viewed on UNAIR DPKKA YouTube channel.
