UNAIR NEWS – Students from Universitas Airlangga’s (UNAIR) Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline have once again achieved remarkable success. Three UNAIR students, Mabruka Team, earned first place in the Electrical System Drawing Competition (ESDC) hosted by Surabaya State Shipping Polytechnic.
The team, consisting of Muhammad Naqiyul Fuad as the team leader, along with members Marwan Fadhilah and Ilham Fahlevi, brought great honor to their university with this exceptional achievement in the competition.
“We are incredibly grateful and proud. All the hard work over the last two months has finally paid off. This competition wasn’t just about winning, but about how we could collaborate effectively as a team and give our best for our alma mater,” Fuad shared with enthusiasm.
Designing efficient electrical installations
Marwan, one of the team members, explained that their innovation began with addressing issues in electrical power systems. Their objective was to design a safer, more efficient, and sustainable electrical installation system, particularly for buildings focused on energy conservation, contributing to large-scale energy efficiency.
“We also introduced a method for selecting electrical components more accurately, as well as optimizing the load to further enhance energy efficiency on a larger scale,” Fadhilah added.
He further mentioned that it took two months to ensure their installation design hit the mark, from the initial design phase to selecting the proper electrical components. Their dedication helped them stand out from the competition.
“When we saw the other participants, we were a bit nervous, especially given the complex technical calculations and time pressure. But we believed in ourselves and overcame every obstacle. We are incredibly proud because this proves that with determination, anything is possible,” Fadhilah stated.
The Mabruka Team is planning to advance their innovation through further research and by collaborating with various partners. They aim to apply their designs to real-world projects and are seeking partnerships. “We want to patent some of the designs we’ve developed so they can be applied more broadly,” the team leader said.
With a passion for learning and innovation, the team is committed to delivering environmentally friendly solutions, aligned with global efforts towards clean and sustainable energy.
