UNAIR expands partnership with Pukyong National University

UNAIR NEWS – Being a World Class University, Universitas Airlangga has expanded its partnership with various parties. This time, UNAIR partners up with Pukyong National University (PKNU) South Korea, on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

The partnership was officially marked by an MoU signing between UNAIR Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development, Prof Dr Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih MSi, and President of Pukyong National University (PKNU), Professor Jang Young-soo, in Balairua Plenary Meeting Room, Management Building, Campus MERR (C) UNAIR.

UNAIR and PKNU agreed to mutually support each other in the field of Tridharma (3 missions) of Higher Education. The two parties appreciate and fully encourage the partnership based on their shared vision of realizing the seventeen points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Prof Jang said in his opening speech, “Through this agreement, we will promote IAMRI’s innovative education and research to realize the SDGs.”

The MoU was followed by the PKNU video profile screening and presentation of international programs offered by PKNU to UNAIR. Some of them are PKNU International Summer School, PKNU Exchange Student Program, and PKNU International Dual Degree.

UNAIR representatives also presented their programs and featured research to PKNU. Various programs from several faculties were offered, from the academic field, such as the Multivariate Analysis course from the Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidisciplinary, to research on health development and environmental monitoring by the Faculty of Science and Technology. Prof Nyoman invited PKNU to join the World University Association for Community Development which will be held from October to November.

“I believe the MoU signing will strengthen our partnership in the fields of academic, research, and community service. Hopefully, it will also increase the potential of student exchange programs in the future,” said Prof Nyoman.

Pukyong National University (PKNU) is a national university in Busan, South Korea, established in 1996. PKNU has four campuses; Daeyeon Campus, which focuses on education and research, Yongdang Campus for research collaboration between university and industry, Gijang Campus for fisheries science institute, and Goseong Campus for marine science and technology.
