UNAIR NEWS – Dr. Gancar Candra Premananto SE MSi and fellow professors from international universities have released an ABEST21 International published book, Online Workshop for Assuring the Quality of Online Lectures in the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, in October 2022. The book has also gained International Standard Book Number (ISBN).
The book contains a collection of various ABEST21 university members’ experiences in dealing with COVID-19, including five universities from Indonesia, three universities from Thailand, two universities from Japan, one from Singapore, and one from Australia. The experiences were collected from ten online workshops held from November 26, 2020, to August 19, 2021.
The editorial team consists of Associate Professor (AP) Dr. Gancar Candra Premananto from Universitas Airlangga as the team leader, AP Dr. Yudi Fernando from Universiti Malaysia Pahang, AP Danaipong Chetchotsak Ph.D. from Khon Kaen University Thailand, and Senior Lecturer Dr. Jayne Bye from Western Sydney University Australia.
Dr. Gancar stated that the workshop aims to learn and acknowledge the experiences of one another. COVID-19 ignited several problems in students’ learning systems during the pandemic and its quality assurance.
“Therefore, we’ve appointed several keynote speakers from ABEST21 university members at a global scale to share their experiences. Online workshops have been carried out for a year since November 26, 2020, got finished and gained the ISBN by October 2022,” he said.
Professor Fumio Itoh President of ABEST21 International has participated in the online discussion with Dr. Gancar’s teams several times. Language has not been a barrier between them.
“The discussion was delivered in English,” he said.
The book’s access is restricted to ABEST21 university members using QR Code and is not for sale. Dr. Gancar hoped that the book will help the members in benchmarking various practices from state and private universities.
“The book is a compulsory read for the ABEST21 members worldwide,” he said.
The book marks the international collaboration and implementation of SDGs 4 in quality education and SGDs 17 in partnership with the goals. Besides, it shows UNAIR’s significant role in education institutions’ management and quality assurance in business management program.
Several UNAIR FEB lecturers also became the Peer Review Team of ABEST21 international accreditation institution, including Dr. Nisful Laila, Sri Gunawan, DBA, and Dr. Gancar. Sri Gunawan and Dr. Gancar have been appointed as the PRT leader and speakers in the ABEST21 workshop and seminar several times.
“It shows their huge trust in UNAIR,” he ended.
