UNAIR NEWSUniversitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held the third period of graduation ceremony in 2022. The ceremony was held in Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), Campus MERR (C) UNAIR, on Saturday, August 13, 2022.

UNAIR Rector Prof Dr Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak conferred degrees to 451 students, consisting of 9 diploma graduates, 331 bachelor’s degree graduates, 95 master’s degree graduates, and 17 doctoral program graduates. Three foreign graduates from Madagascar, Pakistan, and South Korea also participated in the event.

In his speech, the rector advised graduates to keep up the hard work in developing and exploiting sciences, skills, and competence for the benefit of mankind.

“Hard work is highly needed. Without the hard work, science, skills, and expertise you have will be of no use with no added value for anyone,” Prof Nasih said.

He emphasized that they must learn anytime and anywhere. It should be done continually, anytime, anywhere, from anyone. Hopefully, UNAIR alumni will become life-long learners.

Another speech was also given by the representative of UNAIR Alumni Association (IKA UA), Dr. Andi Fadjar Tjahjono Drs MSi, also the secretary of the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) of East Java. The graduation ceremony held during Indonesian independence month encourages the graduates to follow the heroes’ spirits of struggle and sacrifice in achieving the independence of Indonesia.

“Let’s follow the heroes’ spirit of struggle and their sacrifice in developing the nation to a just, prosperous, and civilized society. Congratulations to all graduates. It’s our responsibility to maintain the alma mater’s reputation in society,” he said.

Representing her fellow graduates, Adinda Wibi Kinanti Putri from the Faculty of Economic and Business expressed her biggest gratitude to everyone who contributes to their learning journey at UNAIR.

“My friends, today, we finally achieve one of our biggest dreams. Don’t be afraid to dream big and find your potential. There’s no class without tests. No dreams are achieved in an instant. One day, when you face difficulties and failures, remember one thing, failure is part of the process to success. If you avoid failure, you avoid success,” she said.

The graduation ceremony got even more special with the MICIN (Mengukir Cinta – Carving Love) and MSG (Message From Secret Graduate) where the graduates share their stories in UNAIR.
