UNAIR NEWS – At Graduation 244 ceremony of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT, Ak, CA, awarded degrees to 1,273 graduands from various academic levels. The ceremony took place at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) on the MERR-C campus of UNAIR on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
In his address, Prof. Nasih congratulated the graduates on their academic accomplishments, but he emphasized that this milestone is just the beginning. He urged the graduates to view their achievement as the first step toward future responsibilities and contributions.
“Graduation is not the end; It is merely a starting point, a prelude to future service and greater contributions. Today, we are sending you off into society,” Prof. Nasih stated.
Never stop learning
During this warm occasion, the graduates officially shed their student status, embarking on the next phase of their journeys. Prof. Nasih encouraged them to continue learning, wherever their paths may lead.
“There are many paths to choose from—whether continuing your studies, entering the professional workforce, or becoming entrepreneurs. Whatever path you take, the key is to keep learning. Lifelong learning is essential to maintaining the relevance of the knowledge we possess,” advised the Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UNAIR.

He also stressed that learning isn’t confined to formal education. Graduates should recognize that knowledge can be gained from many different experiences. He reminded them that it is essential to share what they learn, as the most valuable knowledge is that which benefits others.
“Let us commit to lifelong learning. Our responsibility is to apply whatever knowledge we have. Knowledge is useless unless it is put to practice. Like a tree, its true value lies not in the tree itself but in the fruit it bears,” Prof. Nasih remarked.
Acknowledging personal achievement
Prof. Nasih also took time to recognize the challenges the graduates have faced. Their ability to overcome obstacles and persevere is a testament to their strength. He encouraged them to take pride in their efforts, as their success is the result of their own hard work.
“Today’s success is the result of contributions from many, not only your professors or the rector. But most of all, it is your own efforts that have brought you here. The second biggest contributors are your close friends and, most importantly, your parents,” Prof. Nasih concluded.
