UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has been honored as the Fastest Growing University at the CNN Indonesia Awards. The event celebrates the achievements of regions and private sectors that demonstrate exceptional commitment and performance in good governance.
The award ceremony, held at The Westin Surabaya on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, acknowledged UNAIR for its remarkable growth, particularly in global rankings.
The Fastest Growing University
In 2024, Universitas Airlangga achieved significant milestones, climbing to the 308th position in the QS World University Rankings and earning the title of the Most Improved University in Asia. Moreover, UNAIR ranked 81st out of 1,963 higher education institutions worldwide in the THE Impact Rankings 2024.
These accolades highlight UNAIR’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its continued efforts to elevate the quality of education.
Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., accepted the award on behalf of the university. He emphasized that this recognition from CNN represents both an honor and a challenge to further improve UNAIR’s educational standards.
“This award challenges us to continue improving. In education, stagnation or regression isn’t an option. This recognition pushes us to keep advancing and striving for even greater excellence,” he stated.
Outstanding Leader in Education
In addition to the institutional recognition, UNAIR also received an award in the Specialist Awards category. UNAIR’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, was honored as one of the Outstanding Figures of Educational Improvement.
This award acknowledges Prof. Nasih’s pivotal role in advancing higher education, significantly enhancing UNAIR’s global competitiveness.
Prof. Nasih has also played a key role in founding the World University Association of Community Development, an international consortium that now includes over 30 universities worldwide, aimed at promoting collaboration on community development projects.
