Advancing collaboration

“The strong partnership between Taiwan and Indonesia, particularly with UNAIR, is a vital avenue for both academic advancement and sustainable development. Over the years, this collaboration has not only supported student exchanges but has also fostered joint research, knowledge exchange, and cross-cultural understanding,” said Prof. Nasih during his address.
He added that the long-standing academic ties between UNAIR and various Taiwanese institutions have greatly enriched the academic environment at UNAIR, and the university remains committed to strengthening and expanding these ties.
Study opportunities in Taiwan
The INTENSE Education Fair 2025 directly showcases the fruits of this partnership. “Twelve Taiwanese universities are participating in this year’s fair. They plan to launch academic programs in the fall of 2025 targeted at vocational school graduates (D3 and D4) as well as bachelor’s degree (S1) graduates. In total, 41 programs will be offered in the fields of STEM and semiconductors,” said Yu-Huei Yang, representing Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.

The programs on offer range from undergraduate and master’s degrees to dual-degree tracks, two-year bachelor’s programs, and even doctoral studies. “We hope this initiative will foster meaningful exchange of knowledge and encourage outstanding students to pursue higher education in Taiwan,” Yang added.
He also noted that students pursuing education in Taiwan will be eligible for scholarships of up to 100,000 New Taiwan Dollars per year, along with financial support for airfare and administrative costs. Additionally, to support the INTENSE Program, Taiwan’s Ministry of Education has established INTACT Base offices in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bangka Belitung, offering Mandarin language training for prospective students.
