UNAIR NEWSUniversitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is hosting the prestigious AUN Educational Forum and Young Speakers’ Contest, bringing together delegates from ASEAN countries as well as China, Japan, and South Korea. The event, which takes place from Tuesday, October 23, 2024, to Saturday, October 26, 2024, aims to strengthen international networks and collaboration.

This initiative aligns with UNAIR’s goal of expanding its global presence, having joined the ASEAN University Network (AUN), which has since evolved into the ASEAN+3 University Network with the inclusion of China, Japan, and South Korea.

Participants from various universities across the ASEAN+3 region attended the opening ceremony held at Majapahit Hall, ASEEC Tower, on UNAIR’s Dharmawangsa-B Campus on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Prof. Iman Harymawan, PhD, Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), welcomed the delegates during his opening remarks.

“It is an honor for UNAIR to serve as the host university for The AUN Educational Forum and Young Speakers’ Contest. I extend a warm welcome to the delegates from ASEAN countries, as well as China, Japan, and South Korea,” said Prof. Harymawan.

Prof. Harymawan highlighted that the forum offers a crucial opportunity for experts to collaborate and grow together. As a professor at UNAIR’s Faculty of Economics and Business, he stressed the importance of collaboration in enhancing educational ecosystems.

“We cannot progress in isolation. That is why AUN provides us with a platform and an ecosystem to grow collectively. It is a privilege to be here alongside the AUN Secretariat, keynote speakers, and experts who are sharing their knowledge to build a robust educational ecosystem for students across Asia,” he added.

Prof. Harymawan also expressed his gratitude to the AUN Secretariat, keynote speakers, and judges for their contributions and for providing students with the opportunity to develop their creativity and innovation during this event.
