UNAIR International Nursing Conference discusses future healthcare transformation

UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Nursing (FKp) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held the 14th  International Nursing Conference on Saturday, May 20, 2023, and Sunday, May 21, 2023. The international conference themed Transforming The Future Health Care Through Research and Innovation was held offline and online. Hotel Bumi Surabaya was the venue for the offline event.

Dr. Ninuk Dian Kurniawati SKep Ns MANP, the chief executive, said that this conference illustrates the diversity that exists in the world. “We can see the beauty and the difference at this conference. The participants are not only from Indonesia but from various countries,” she said.

The challenges ahead are not easy and must be faced. Therefore this conference encourages participants to learn more about nursing research and practice and to create innovations to improve the quality of health in the future.

“Hopefully, this conference can provide inspiration and new insights that will give birth to new research and innovations,” Dr. Ninuk said at the conference.

Hundreds of abstracts

More than 300 scientific journal abstracts were submitted, and 16 of them were presented at this international conference. Meanwhile, there were 326 participants consisting of academics, researchers, and nursing practitioners.

“Participants came from various continents such as Africa, Asia, Australia, America and Europe, both online and offline,” she explained.

This international conference was carried out thanks to the collaboration of FKp UNAIR with 11 institutions from within and outside the country. Meanwhile, this international conference’s speakers came from countries such as Indonesia, Australia, The USA, Taiwan, Finland, Japan, Turkey and Egypt.

Furthermore, the Dean of FKp UNAIR, Prof Dr Ah Yusuf SKp MKes hoped that this international conference can contribute to the development of healthcare services.

“Hopefully, with this event, we can contribute in the form of research, innovation, and practice in the field of Nursing. So that it can improve the quality of healthcare services in the future,” said Prof. Yusuf in his speech.

Prof Dr Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto DEA drh, UNAIR Vice Rector for Academic, Student and Alumni affairs, also expressed his appreciation for holding the international conference.

“I appreciate the organization of this event. Hopefully, this international conference can open opportunities for discussion and expand networks and cooperation, “he concluded. (*)
