UNAIR NEWS – Institute for Research and Community Development (LPPM) Universitas Airlangga has initiated UNAIR Peduli Bencana social service program for the victims of Cianjur earthquake that occurred on November 21, 2022. The donations were distributed to Cianjur on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
UNAIR Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development Prof Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih MSi distributed the donations with Head of LPPM Dr. Gadis MS, Vice-Dean of UNAIR Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) Dr. Mustofa Helmi Effendi DTAPH drh, and Vice Director 3 School of Postgraduate Studies (SPs) Dr. H Suparto Wijoyo SH MHum.
“Until Sunday, November 27, when we visited Nagrak Village Cianjur, there have been more than 200 smaller aftershocks. However, when we visited, we didn’t feel the earthquake,” said Dr. Gadis.
The donations were carried in a box truck containing food, blankets, diapers, toiletries, medicines, and clothes. The donations were collected from all UNAIR academicians.
“Currently, the local district government deals with survivors in multiple places. There are some most-required assistances, like waterproof refuge tents with thick material, toilet facilities, and safe drinking water,” she added.
Therefore, Dr. Gadis requested all communities to donate to Cianjur earthquake victims, which can be done through UNAIR Center for Social Funding Management (PUSPAS).
