UNAIR Nursing Faculty implements Team Finland Knowledge (TFK) and Mobility Program in Finland

UNAIR NEWS – Four delegates from Faculty of Nursing Universitas Airlangga, Rizki Fitryasari, Ika Nur Pratiwi (lecturers), Fadlyn Attina Jatmiko (Bachelor’s program) and Kusnul Chotimah (Master’s program) followed Staff and Students Mobility Program in Finland from May 11th – 21st 2024. This activity is in the context of “Care4world” implementation program between the Finnish institutions (Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences) and Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia managed by Team Finland Knowledge (TFK).

The staff went to Metropolia UAS, Helsinki, to attend international staff
week events, had a strategic meeting related to the “care4world project” with Aija Ahokas and Eija Raatikainen from Metropolia’s TFK team and also took part in a simulation of hospital tour and visiting health care clinic “Hymy-kylä”. The staff joined the collaborative learning activities with Ellina Turunen as Karelia Staff, attended the Super Nurse Event, visited the hospital and wrapping the final meeting with Kirsi Tanskanen and Savolainen Mari as TFK team in Karelia UAS, Joensuu.

The students took part in varied activities in Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Joensuu. They got the chance to have skills laboratory and visited mental health unit in the central hospital. They were also introduced to the simulation centre in nursing education. Karelia has advanced technology which greatly supports student’s learning process. Furthermore, the students also visited the palliative care unit in Joensuu.

Both the students and staff from UNAIR attended the Managerial International Competence Seminar along with other institutions from the UK and Denmark held by Karelia. Karelia UAS commemorates International Nursing Day with an amazing event called Super Nurse. Everyone was happy to attend the event. This program brings new perspectives and experiences regarding the advanced technology used in nursing education from developed countries. Both institutions were looking forward to continuing the collaborations.
