UNAIR ranked #101-200 in THE Impact Rankings

UNAIR NEWS –Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has strengthened its position as a world-class university as it is ranked #101 – 200 world rank in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. The rank has improved from a year before, as in 2022, UNAIR was ranked #201-300 globally.

This ranking assesses the quality of higher education institutions in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These sustainable development goals encompass 17 points to create peace and prosperity for humanity.

UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak, said that to achieve sustainable development goals, UNAIR has made an active contribution through various activities. “UNAIR takes an active role in various activities to produce and manage water resources, including the provision of sanitation,” he said on June 3, 2023.

The efforts made by UNAIR academic community were not in vain. UNAIR gained 75.5 points and is ranked 51st worldwide for the 6th SDG: Clean Water and Sanitation. Furthermore, for 5th SDG: Gender Equality, UNAIR is ranked 66th globally. UNAIR’s effort to always prioritize gender equality has come to fruition.

Meanwhile, for the 1st SDG: No Poverty, UNAIR is ranked 13th globally. Prof. Nasih emphasized that UNAIR will always contribute to eradicating poverty and stunting.

“This achievement is due to UNAIR’s contribution to eradicating poverty on earth, including stunting reduction programs,” he explained.

Competing with 1,591 universities

Reaching the position was not an easy task. Approximately 1,591 universities worldwide compete to deliver their best performances.

“Across the number of universities worldwide, UNAIR obtains this position. UNAIR’s contribution to the community has been remarkable,” Prof. Nasih said.

The achievements UNAIR has gained prove its outstanding credibility. Also, it continues to make improvements to be a well-known world-class university.

“It means whoever graduated from UNAIR is graduated from a world-class university,” he said.

The hard work of all UNAIR academians becomes the key to success. Therefore, the rector encouraged all students to work hard and learn continuously.

“Hard work is the key to our success. Be a true learner. Bear in mind that learning can be anywhere, from anyone,” he said.

Nationally, UNAIR is ranked second after UI. UGM is in third place, followed by IPB and ITB in the fourth and fifth ranks, respectively.
