UNAIR NEWS – There is more than one way to reach a destination.  It describes the journey to becoming a student at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). One of the pathways that prospective new students can take is through the Golden Ticket pathway.

The golden ticket registration process has been underway since Thursday, Feb 15, 2024. Therefore, UNAIR Rector announced the candidates for the pure golden ticket recipients on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Garuda Mukti Hall, Management Office MERR-C Campus.

Prof Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak expressed that this event underscores UNAIR’s commitment to transparency. “We are announcing the candidates now so that the public is informed,” he said.

Prof Nasih revealed that a total of 1,405 individuals applied for the golden ticket. There were 47 schools represented among the candidates for the Golden Ticket, and a total of 57 individuals were selected as pure Golden Ticket candidates.

Furthermore, there are two categories of golden ticket candidates. First, the pure Golden Ticket category. “We evaluate pure golden ticket candidates based on their achievements. Achievement carries a weightage of 45 percent,” he stated.

The Professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business added that besides achievements, academic grades are also crucial. “The weightage of report card grades is 55 percent. If there is a pure golden ticket recipient whose ranking is below those who were not accepted, the primary reason is due to their achievements. Achievements carry significant weight,” he explained.

Secondly, the hybrid Golden Ticket category. This category assigns a weightage of 15 to 20 percent to achievements. The remaining assessment criteria come from academic records and the candidate’s school background. These candidates will be nominated by UNAIR to be accepted in the SNBP selection. “Besides achievements, academic criteria remain the top priority,” he remarked.

These candidates will be nominated by UNAIR to pass the SNBP selection. The announcement of the SNBP will take place on March 26, 2024. Prof Nasih mentioned that the admission quota for UNAIR new students through the SNBP route is around 1,890 individuals.

“The candidates we are calling today are candidates of pure golden ticket. They are still candidates. We are nominating them to pass SNBP national selection, which will be announced later,” he clarified.

Prof Nasih emphasized that there are still 418 other candidates with the potential to pass the golden ticket selection. He urged candidates to remain optimistic until the announcement of the SNBP. “There are still 418 participants who did not attend; they still have the opportunity to pass the UNAIR entrance selection but in the hybrid category. Don’t be pessimistic; wait for the announcement of SNBP later,” he concluded.
