UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga officially concluded its 2025 New Student Orientation (PKKMB) orientation program on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The closing ceremony was held at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus. Marking the end of one of the university’s signature annual events, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin., delivered his remarks to the incoming class.
“This is the conclusion of a journey we hope has left a lasting impression. From July 31 to August 8, 2025, you have taken part in a series of PKKMB activities—demanding, yet deeply meaningful,” Prof. Madyan began.
Starting point for academic life
He explained that PKKMB is an opportunity for new students to become familiar with UNAIR’s rich history, notable achievements, and vision for the future. The program also offers insight into how academic life is structured to make UNAIR a university of impact.
Prof. Madyan expressed his hope that this experience would inspire every students of Universitas Airlangga (Ksatria Airlangga). “You have been introduced to student activities, academic and non-academic facilities, and the strong sense of diversity and unity that defines the UNAIR community,” he said.

Over the past eight days, he added, the PKKMB committee designed the program to be engaging, people-centered, and academically enriching. “We want you to experience that learning at UNAIR is enjoyable, within a supportive and family-like campus environment,” he said.
The rector stressed that every activity was intended to enhance students’ intellectual growth. Quality education, he emphasized, balances the development of both mind and character. “Throughout PKKMB, you have demonstrated exceptional spirit, adaptability, and enthusiasm,” said the senior lecturer from the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Spirit of a knight
According to Prof. Madyan, the essence of a Ksatria Airlangga—not only intelligent, but also bold in facing challenges, socially conscious, and committed to UNAIR’s HEBAT values—was evident throughout the program.
He reminded students that PKKMB is only the beginning. “Now that the excitement has passed, it is time to fully embrace university life. You will need perseverance and determination to achieve outstanding results in the years ahead,” he said.
Prof. Madyan closed by urging students to show their best potential, seize every learning opportunity, innovate, and contribute to the nation. “Pursue academic excellence, be active in organizations, and remember the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: education, research, and community service,” he concluded.
