UNAIR Rector Prof M Nasih

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Red and White Vaccine continues to show positive developments. After entering the phase 1 clinical trials on February 9, 2022, and phase 2, it will soon enter the phase 3 clinical trials. Regarding phase 3 clinical trials, UNAIR is highly committed to complying with all mechanisms and procedures set by the authorities.

“The issuance of PPUK (Clinical Trial Approval, ed) is under the authority of BPOM (Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency, ed) and UNAIR has handed over PPUK affairs to BPOM. It means that UNAIR is ready to carry out phase 3 clinical trials any time according to the permission from BPOM,” explained Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak, UNAIR Rector, who was contacted by telephone yesterday.

As in previous phases, the UNAIR Red and White Vaccine, which has been awaited by millions of Indonesians, requires a lot of support from various parties, including the Indonesian people. The need for volunteers to become subjects in phase 3 is quite significant, around 3500-4000 volunteers.

Therefore, the participation of the community, especially those who have never been vaccinated, to become part of the history of Indonesia, is highly expected. So, the Indonesian people can immediately feel the benefits of this UNAIR Red and White Vaccine.

“UNAIR hopes to achieve the designed timeline so that the work of this nation’s children is optimally beneficial for the country,” said Prof M Nasih.

At a press conference on the improvement of UNAIR’s ranking to the World’s Top #369 according to the QS WUR on Thursday, June 9, 2022, Prof. Nasih said that the research and development of Red and White Vaccine has collaborated with various parties, including the phase 3 financing that the Indonesian Ministry of Health has approved. “This Red and White vaccine started from A to Z, is administered, managed and developed by Indonesian best minds and in laboratories of Indonesia. Of course, this is a good start, and once again, we are waiting for directions from colleagues with authority here, BPOM, “said UNAIR Rector. (*)
