UNAIR strengthens global networking with ASAIHL Board Meeting

UNAIR NEWSUniversitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held the Board Meeting of the Association of Southeast Asia Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The meeting, hosted in the Plenary Room at RUA Hall on UNAIR’s MERR-C Campus, served as a precursor to the ASAIHL Conference 2024, scheduled from November 19 to 21 in Surabaya.

Prominent attendees included Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak, Rector of Universitas Airlangga and President of ASAIHL; Dr. Ninnat Olanvoravuth, Secretary General of ASAIHL; Prof. Tan Sri Syed Jalaludin Salim, Chairman of the ASAIHL Executive Committee; and Prof. Dr. Roger Frutos, Director of Development for ASAIHL.

During his opening address, Prof. Nasih called on ASAIHL members to take active roles in advancing the education sector and fostering stronger global academic collaborations. “We extend an invitation to all members to play an active role in enhancing academic excellence and fostering global relationships,” he said.

He further reiterated UNAIR’s steadfast commitment to supporting ASAIHL’s collective objectives. “UNAIR remains dedicated to assisting ASAIHL in achieving its mission of strengthening academic networks,” he affirmed.

Prof. Nasih also emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with higher education institutions worldwide, noting that such partnerships would help ASAIHL play a pivotal role in elevating the standards of higher education in Southeast Asia and globally.

UNAIR’s role as the host of the ASAIHL Conference 2024 highlights its leadership in addressing global challenges. This year’s conference focuses on the theme, “University’s Role in Advancing Climate Crisis Reduction,” with three sub-themes: curriculum design for climate crisis reduction, green economy research for university-industry collaboration,community service frameworks for climate crisis solutions
