UNAIR NEWS – The Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (ISMA) is one of the government programs that provides opportunities for students to study for one semester in an overseas university. Being an IISMA participant is an achievement in itself, according to Ali Assegaf, a student of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR).
Study at Vytautas Magnus University
Through IISMA, Ali had the opportunity to take part in an outbound study at Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania from August to December. Excellent educational quality in European countries and expert professors in their fields were some of the reasons Ali chose Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) as the host university.
“Here I received extraordinary guidance and guidance in my educational journey. I am sure that this university will provide an unforgettable educational experience,” he said.
According to Ali, the education system at his university is very flexible because it provides freedom for students. “In an academic environment, students are given the opportunity to pursue their knowledge and interests without barriers. This very supportive atmosphere allows us to truly feel the essence of freedom in the learning process,” he said.
In this case, students are given full trust to manage their attendance. “If any day we feel that our presence in class is not necessary or we need time to pursue personal interests, we are free not to attend. This is a real manifestation of individual freedom and responsibility in the learning process,” said the FEB UNAIR student.
Not only flexible, the teaching staff at the host university also takes an inclusive approach to encourage students to explore knowledge and experience without being constrained by rigid rules.
Complete facilities
According to Ali, the campus offers various courses and makes it possible to explore interests and talents. The modern campus facilities create a comfortable and up-to-date learning environment.
“I am very confident that my choice to study at this campus is the right step in achieving my educational goals,” he explained.
Ali revealed that living in Europe was an extraordinary experience. Every day, we can share experiences, culture, and views on life with people from various backgrounds. This diversity not only enriches the experience but also helps us understand and appreciate differences. By participating in this program, Ali believes that there will be many doors of opportunity opened for me in the future.
“This program will not only make it easier for me to find work, but will also broaden my horizons, allow me to explore the business world, and even realize my dream of becoming a creative vlogger,” he said.
Furthermore, he hoped this program would help him build a strong professional network, provide deep insight into the industry he is interested in, and hone his skills. Additionally, there will be opportunities to collaborate with experienced professionals, allowing him to develop himself and achieve extraordinary achievements.
