UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) received a visit from the National Taiwan University (NTU) Hospital – Yunlin Branch on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, to establish cooperation. The meeting was held in the Plenary Room, 4th floor of UNAIR Management Office, MERR (C) Campus.
On occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amin, SpP, the Vice Director for Academic Affairs and Training of UNAIR Hospital, attending on behalf of the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Digitalization and Information (IDI), acknowledged the numerous collaborative programs that could be pursued between the two institutions.
“We see many opportunities for joint programs with National Taiwan University, both in education and research in the future,” he said.
The meeting discussed potential future collaborations that could support the quality of healthcare education involving UNAIR Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine. According to Prof. Muhammad Amin, the prioritized areas for collaboration were student exchange programs, staff mobility, and research.
“We also emphasize our efforts to support tuberculosis research in Indonesia and engage in joint publication activities,” he added.
The Deputy Inspector of NTU Hospital, Prof. Chien Ching Hung, agreed on this matter. On that occasion, he affirmed that the National Taiwan University Hospital would fully support research collaboration.
“Not only tuberculosis, but we are also actively researching various aspects of Public Health development. I believe this research will benefit future collaborations,” said Prof. Chien Ching Hung.
Realization of collaboration
The team from National Taiwan University (NTU) Hospital – Yunlin Branch promptly implemented the collaborative efforts discussed in the strategic meeting. It was done by organizing a guest lecture at UNAIR Hospital.
Attended by the hospital staff and all professional medical students engaged in clinical practice, the guest lecture focused on nutrition management and advancements in telemedicine.
“We are delighted to collaborate with UNAIR and the hospitals in Surabaya. Therefore, we will wholeheartedly support all programs we can strengthen in the future,” Prof. Chien Ching Hung expressed.
