UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has officially welcomed 8,732 new students into its community, marking the beginning of their academic journey on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. These students, now part of the university’s undergraduate, applied undergraduate, and associate degree programs, were honored in an enthusiastic ceremony.

The inauguration was held at the Airlangga Convention Center on the MEER-C Campus, where UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Moh Nasih SE MT Ak, emphasized the importance of dedicated study. He encouraged the students to fully engage in their education, as this will equip them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

“You are among the brightest talents in this nation. Seize the opportunity to study at UNAIR to its fullest. We believe that by committing to your studies today, you will emerge as the great leaders of tomorrow,” Prof. Nasih said.

Joining UNAIR and studying at one of the world’s leading universities is a privilege. Therefore, the new students are encouraged to take full advantage of this chance to gain as much knowledge as possible.

“Whoever seeks happiness in this world and the hereafter must understand that the key is knowledge. The key to success lies in how much knowledge we can acquire,” added the professor from UNAIR’s Faculty of Economics and Business.

HEBAT represents the core values every UNAIR student should adopt. One key value is humility. UNAIR students are urged to be lifelong learners—humble individuals open to new ideas and knowledge.

“Be lifelong learners who embrace humility. With humility, you will be more receptive to new ideas, knowledge, and experiences, allowing you to fully benefit from what your professors have to offer,” he added.

Beyond humility, UNAIR students must also exhibit bravery. The willingness to take risks is essential for personal growth and future success.

“Be the ones who are not afraid to take risks. Successful individuals are those who dare to take risks. Without risk, we cannot progress as quickly,” Prof. Nasih concluded.
