Universitas Airlangga secures £50,000 grant from The British Academy to strengthen research management capacity

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has been awarded £50,000 (equivalent to 1 billion rupiah) in funding from The British Academy UK under the ODA Research Management Capacity Strengthening Programme. This prestigious grant is led by Prof. Iman Harymawan, Ph.D., Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), in collaboration with Dr. Anna Brown from Durham University, United Kingdom.

The funded proposal, titled “Enhancing Support Operations for Comprehensive and Effective Grant Management: A Strategic Approach to Strengthening Research Capacity,” will be jointly implemented by Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) and the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Universitas Airlangga over a 24-month period (2025-2027). The project aims to develop a centralized platform for reporting and managing research grant funds, significantly improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the university’s grant management processes.

This initiative is supported by the UK’s International Science Partnerships Fund, managed by the Department of Science, Innovation, and Technology (UK). The program encourages collaboration between research institutions in the UK and developing countries, including Indonesia. It seeks to strengthen institutional research management systems by fostering partnerships in research administration, finance, and legal operations.

Through this achievement, Universitas Airlangga is committed to fostering a more robust and efficient research environment, ensuring long-term sustainability in managing international research grants. This milestone is expected to lay the groundwork for stronger global collaborations and further enhance UNAIR’s position as a leading research institution in Indonesia.
