UNAIR NEWS – The Selection for Outstanding Student (Pilmapres) in Universitas Airlangga was successfully held to find the best delegates to represent the alma mater in national competition. Grenada Asaika, a student of English Language and Literature student at the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) ‘19, was chosen as the First Place winner of Outstanding Student for Bachelor’s Degree category 2022.
“I did not think I could be what I never thought I could be. However, I am very grateful because I have been given a title that is surely not easy to get. I also quickly called my family, lecturer, and close friends to express my gratitude for their support and prayers.” she added.
Ready to represent UNAIR at national event
Genada mentioned she is ready to represent UNAIR in the National Pilmapres 2022. She will give her best effort because she wants to contribute in bringing the alma mater for the better.
“Because this is a national competition, the preparation must be well-prepared. The preparation has started since the announcement yesterday. I did as early as possible because I want to do the best to make UNAIR proud,” she stated.
Motivation to make alma mater proud
Gege explained that the university outstanding student selection process was carried out smoothly. She had prepared her best for the competition because she represented her faculty’s good name.
“What I presented at the university election was certainly a representation of my faculty. Therefore, I worked out the best possible strategy and efforts for the university elections so that I can make my faculty proud as well,” revealed Gege.
“I want to prove to anyone that my faculty, Faculty of Humanities, have many potential students that deserve appreciation. I want to make my faculty proud and contribute,” added the gold medal winner of iMIT SIC 2021.
In the future, the founder of the SAFE Indonesia platform hopes that she can be a good role model for anyone. In addition, she wants to inspire and encourage other students to continue to excel.
As a closing statement, Genada encouraged all students who want to participate in the 2023 university elections to prepare themselves well as early as possible.
“Keep improving yourself better and enjoy every process. Good thing takes time, so I hope that students can continue to keep their spirits up even though the process will have many obstacles,” she concluded. (*)
