UNAIR NEWS – After a rigorous selection process, the Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) officially announced the recipients of the 2026 Golden Ticket. Among them is Wong Bryant Alden, a student from SMAK BPK Penabur Singgasana, who secured a place in the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at UNAIR.

Becoming a Golden Ticket recipient reflects his persistence in achieving academic excellence throughout his school years. His accomplishments include first place and Best Biology at the Medical Science and Application Competition (Medspin) 2025, first place in the 2025 National Science Olympiad (OSN) in Biology, and first place in Pharmanova ITB 2026.

Alden emphasized that these achievements were not attained overnight. He faced multiple setbacks but remained motivated to improve.

“I participated in Medspin for three consecutive years, from 2023 to 2025. I did not win in the first two attempts, but I stayed motivated and tried again in 2025, where I finally achieved first place,” he explained.

Alden’s interest in medicine began during a school holiday when he read a book on human physiology. Since junior high school, he has found science subjects particularly engaging and enjoyable to study. Additionally, the aspiration to become the first doctor in his family has been a strong source of motivation for him.

His success is closely tied to his consistent study habits. Alden applies a simple yet effective method to strengthen his understanding of the material.

“I follow a ‘one day, one page’ study method, so I do not overwhelm myself with too much material at once. I also set specific targets within a certain timeframe to stay motivated,” he noted.

Looking ahead, Alden hopes to grow as a university student while maintaining his consistency in studying medicine. “Once I am officially enrolled, I want to maximize my potential. Hopefully, one day I can bring pride to UNAIR by winning competitions such as the Regional Medical Olympiad (RMO) or the Indonesian Medical Olympiad (IMO),” he stated.
