UNAIR NEWS – East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa was grateful and proud of Universitas Airlangga’s achievement in QS World University Rankings. UNAIR has improved its rank from 465th to 369th position worldwide.
“UNAIR is ranked 369th globally. While in Asia, UNAIR reaches the 81st rank. It’s a tremendous achievement and special gift for UNAIR’s 68th anniversary,” Khofifah said after attending the UNAIR Alumni Association’s 50th Anniversary at Hotel Bumi on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
She believed that such achievement should be maintained and improved continuously. The UNAIR alum asked all academicians, including lecturers and students, to improve the quality and strengthen the synergy. In the future, UNAIR should be capable of building and contributing the best for the nation.
“Human resources development and collaborations will improve the achievement and expand UNAIR’s role and contribution to Indonesia,” the governor said.
Vice-Rector for Human Resources of UNAIR, Prof. Muhammad Madyan said that despite the increased ranking, they still have lots of work to do, particularly on using innovation and science.
“We will build up our national and international network consistently, collaborations on a higher level with many parties. UNAIR can’t stand alone,” he said.
Prof. Madyan further explained that a good ranking is not the main goal. The process and all efforts to make improvements in each sector are the foundation for progressing to a superior and world-recognized university.
“This way, hopefully, UNAIR can be a SMART University,” he said.
Until now, five universities in Indonesia have reached World’s Top 500 universities, they are UNAIR, University of Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Bandung Institute of Technology, and IPB University.
