UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga once again was chosen as the host of Eagle Award 2017 competition road show, after they hosted the program in 2013. The famous documentary film competition become one of many competitions longed for many Indonesia film-makers. The competition is scheduled to be held on 27 April.
“Unique ideas are mandatory in this competition. Technical flaws are acceptable. At the end of the competition 10 best films are going to be invited by Metro TV to pitching forum,” said Syahrir Akbar as Eagle Awards Documentary Competition program coordinator.
Met at Information Center and Human Resources Universitas Airlangga, Syahrir said that Eagle Awards Documentary Competition was a program which collaborated education, production, and competition. It is also a means to record and interpret Indonesia.
“This has become a melting pot for Indonesian young intellects to respond issues surrounding them through a documentary film,” he explained. “Once a participant from East Java made a film about lapindo mud,” he added.
Added to what Syahrir had said, Head of PIH UNAIR Drs. Suko Widodo, M.Si., welcomed the offer from one of private national televisions. For him this was a valuable moment for UNAIR students to dig up their ideas and creativities.
“This is an honor, holding a prestigious event like this. UNAIR support competitions for Indonesian youngsters. We hope this competition will trigger creative thinking,” said Suko. “This year UNAIR is hosting the event, UNAIR students have to use this moment to craft achievements,” he said.
