UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR has made another efforts to be a world-class university. Breakthroughs continued to be made. One of them is by actively participating in various world-class events and forums. In the third week of November 2017, UNAIR participated the 13th QS Asia-Pacific Leaders in Education Forum (QS-APPLE) in Taiwan.
In the prestigious event attended by the rectors of the Asia Pacific, the Rector of UNAIR Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., had the honor to give a keynote speech. On that occasion, he presented ideas relating to the theme of Challenges and Opportunities of Higher Education in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
Besides the Rector, three UNAIR Vice Rectors will also deliver speech in the event held in Taichung, Taiwan. Regarding UNAIR’s activities in the forum, UNAIR News succeeded in collecting their activity report via telephone through Viqi Ardaniah, M.A. Linguistics., as representative of the delegation.
Viqi said the event was a response to boost UNAIR’s internationalization. She added that it was also an effort to introduce UNAIR to the wider world of academics.
“The involvement of our leadership in the event is a testament and a real effort to enhance the internationalization of UNAIR,” she said.
Not only that, according to Viqi, various international programs that UNAIR do also receive a positive response from representatives of the world universities attending in the event. Thus, Viqi hoped that many international partnership programs between UNAIR and various universities in the world can work well.
“They are interested in our AMERTA program. Hopefully with this there will be many other partnership programs we can establish, ” she said.
In that occasion, UNAIR was awarded as a winner of creative video competition. The video produced by UNAIR Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) was titled ” Teaching Generation“. Regarding the competition, Viqi admitted that the video was prepared a month before the event.
“There are five competitions in the forum. Alhamdulillah, we follow the video competition and got second place, “said Viqi with pride.
