UNAIR NEWS – The system for buying subsidized fuel oil (BBM), Solar and Pertalite, is planned to use MyPertamina application. This plan raises pros and cons in the community.

Lecturer of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Gitadi Tegas Supramudyo Drs MSi believes that this system is inevitable that the community must understand because this purchasing system is a tool towards a goal, to target the right consumer for Solar and Pertalite.

Integrated design

Although the purchasing system for subsidized fuel is planned to use the MyPertamina app is a good thing, Gitadi emphasized that there must be a good and integrated designThe design should provide payment alternatives to the public in MyPertamina app.

“As the owner of the largest BBM market share and the presence of competitors who are not yet competitive, it should be a firm basic capital to build reliable applications,” explained Gitadi, Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

Long dissemination period

Gitadi also considers that there must be a long dissemination period related to the system for purchasing subsidized fuel using MyPertamina app as the characteristics of Indonesian people take longer to get used to the new purchasing system. “In addition, considering the number of users (MyPertamina, ed), which from the start seemed less reliable,” explained Gitadi.

Strict sanctions for violators

Gitadi also suggested strict sanctions for violators of the new fuel purchasing system. The sanctions are expected to build community compliance so that the objective of subsidized fuel can be achieved. (*)
