UNAIR NEWS – The Central Information Commission of the Republic of Indonesia held the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of Public Information Openness in 2023. The event took place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Labersa Hotel, Kampar Regency, Riau. The speakers included Commissioner Handoko Agung Saputro from the Central Information Commission and Commissioner of Research and Documentation, Rospita Vici.
“This activity is part of the national priority program outlined in the National Medium-Term Development Plan for 2020-2024. Specifically, the goal of the Monev is to assess the compliance of public bodies in implementing Law No. 14 of 2008,” said the Chairperson of the organizing committee and Acting Secretary of the Central Information Commission, Nunik Purwanti.
She added that 398 public bodies from ministries, state institutions, non-ministerial government institutions, non-structural institutions, provinces, state-owned enterprises, universities, and political parties were present at the event. The Monev activity coincided with the celebration of National Information Openness Day.
Simultaneous monitoring and evaluation
In addition to the dissemination, other agendas were carried out. These included the launch of the simultaneous Monev for 2023, the appointment of public information openness ambassadors, the reading of a declaration of commitment by Information Commissions throughout Indonesia in overseeing the 2024 elections, the signing of openness commitments by regents from various provinces in Riau, and the presentation of awards.
“We hope that all public bodies acting as Public Information and Documentation Officials (PPID) will contribute positive energy. Furthermore, they should bear witness and commit to the realization of public information openness in Indonesia,” said Nunik Purwanti.
Looking at the importance of information openness, as one of the best universities in Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is committed to ensuring the openness of public information. It is a manifestation of the university’s transparent, accountable management and the implementation of Good Governance within the campus environment.
