UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR students have made other brilliant achievements through Emilda Putri Aulia, Faculty of Medicine (FK UNAIR) student and Sirojuddin Kholil Muhammad, Biomedical Engineering student, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) in the 2023 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad (ONMIPA) in Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on June 17, 2023.
They won a silver medal in Chemistry and a bronze medal in Biology. Achieving this was not easy for both of them.
Thorough preparation
Afri Andrianto, as the official during ONMIPA, said that UNAIR team had prepared thoroughly a year before for the competition to give the best to UNAIR.
The UNAIR team underwent a long selection process until 12 best participants advanced to ONMIPA 2023. “During the participant selection, we also provided guidance and drilling to the participants. The goal is that they have what it takes to compete, “said Afri Andrianto.
Afri Andrianto as a support system
The success of Emilda Putri Aulia and Sirojuddin Kholil Muhammad cannot be separated from the figure of Afri Andrianto. As a supervising staff, he also provides moral support for the participants to maintain their enthusiasm for the competition.
In this competition, he also collaborated with other lecturers, including Ms. Dwi Ratri Mitha, to drill the team during the preparation. Afri did this to make UNAIR team have a winning spirit and never give up.
“Hopefully, after this competition, UNAIR students will continue to make brilliant achievements and make their alma mater proud nationally. It is our collective duty to maintain the achievements that have been achieved, “he concluded.
