UNAIR NEWS – From Thursday, October 17 to Friday, October 18, 2024, the Health Administration and Policy Master’s Program (AKK) Universitas Airlangga’s (UNAIR) Faculty of Public Health (FKM) hosted the 6th International Conference on Health Administration and Policy (ICoHAP). The event took place at the ASEEC Tower, UNAIR’s Dharmawangsa-B Campus and featured an international seminar, workshops, and oral presentations. Selected papers from the conference will be published in the Indonesian Journal of Health Administration, a Scopus-indexed journal.
Thursday’s international seminar focused on the theme, Facing Challenges and Preparing Healthcare Facilities for Digital Health Transformation. Speakers from Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Russia contributed insights, along with representatives from Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, the Surabaya Health Office, and experts in digital health.
Insights on Digital Health
The seminar addressed the digital transformation initiatives promoted by Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, aiming to equip healthcare facilities with better preparation and insight for digital advancements. Featured speakers included healthcare practitioners and academics with expertise in digital health.
On Friday, the conference continued with activities including oral presentations, workshops for hospitals and primary healthcare facilities (FKTP), and an infographic competition. The hospital workshop, attended by 21 participants, focused on Strategies for Implementing Electronic Medical Records in Hospitals. FKTP workshops featured topics such as Strategies for Integrating Primary Care Services (ILP) with 58 participants and Post-Accreditation Strategic Improvement Planning (PPS) for FKTP with 53 participants. These sessions attracted professionals from a range of healthcare settings, including hospitals, public health centers, and clinics.
Broad participation from national and international delegates
The oral presentations included 28 participants from various national and international universities. After the presentations, first place was awarded to Mohamad Helmi bin Mohamad Yasim, an AKK Master’s Program inbound student from Universiti Malaya, for his presentation titled Factors Associated with Quality of Life Among Knee Osteoarthritis Patients in Malaysia. AKK students Berliana Oktavia Setyawati and Zamrotu Iva Purwanti received second and third place, respectively.
Berliana presented on The Burden of Transportation Cost: A Key Driver of Catastrophic Health Expenditure for Heart Disease Patients in Palu City, while Zamrotu’s topic was Literature Review: Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of Antibiotic Therapy in Caesarean Sections. Their research highlighted the depth and significance of work conducted within the AKK program.
In the infographic competition, judged from 11 entries, first place went to Ahmad Akbar and Ummi Fadhillah from Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu for Digital Health Transformation: SMART Keys to a Healthy Future. Second place was awarded to Marsya Harmoni Bumi from SMAN 1 Magetan for NEW ERA Digital Health: Are We Ready?, and third place to Fauzandy Nur Rahmadani and Fasha Meilani Nursabila from Universitas Gadjah Mada for Towards a Healthy Indonesia: Achieving Equitable Access to Digital Health Services.
