Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin. serves as the Rector of Universitas Airlangga for the 2025–2030 term. In addition to his role as Rector, Prof. Madyan remains active within the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Airlangga, engaging in both teaching and research. Some of his research projects have received funding from IPKI, including “Myopia in Investment: Experienced Manager Age and Long-Term Investment Distortion” and “Corporate Ownership Structure and the Liquidity of Sharia and Non-Sharia Stocks in Indonesia.”
Prof. Madyan previously served as Director of Finance from 2014 to 2015, followed by his tenure as Vice Rector for Resources until 2025.
As a scholar, Prof. Madyan is highly involved in the development of both national and international scientific publications. Between 2018 and 2019, he published around 29 articles and holds an H-index of 16. Notable publications include: “The Impact of Public Ownership and Share Warrants on Market Performance of IPOs: Evidence from the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX)” (2020), “Governance in a Village Fund Program in East Java, Indonesia” (2020), “Inversed Illiquidity and Corporate Investment on the Indonesian Stock Exchange’s Kompas 100 Index” (2020)
In recognition of his service, Prof. Madyan received the Satyalancana Karya Satya X award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2014.
