UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has added another proud achievement to its record. On Friday, July 18, 2025, UNAIR was recognized as the Most Committed University to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the Solopos Best Brand and Innovation (SBBI) Awards.
Held under the theme Sustain and Bold, Legacy Unfold, the 26th annual SBBI Awards honored a wide range of institutions. In addition to universities, the event also recognized government agencies, state-owned enterprises, and leading corporations across various industries. The awards aim not only to celebrate achievement but also to motivate institutions and brands to actively contribute to society.
Result of teamwork and dedication
Head of UNAIR’s Center for Communications and Public Information (PKIP), dr. Martha Kurnia Kusumawardani, SpKFR(K), stated that the award represents a collective success by the entire UNAIR academic community and alumni.
She emphasized that this milestone should not be seen as an endpoint, but as encouragement to continue growing. “This award serves as a benchmark for our ongoing institutional development and reinforces our commitment to the SDGs,” she added.

Nowadays, institutions around the world are striving to achieve the SDGs, aiming to promote global well-being. For universities, the SDGs represent a way to integrate sustainable values into their core missions of education, research, and community engagement.
UNAIR has shown steady dedication to the SDGs in recent years, making a visible impact on society. In 2025, the university ranked 9th globally and 1st in Asia in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, which assess universities’ progress in meeting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
