UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has officially announced the prospective students admitted through the 2026 National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) admissions pathway as part of its new student enrollment process. The announcement was made in a press conference held on Monday (May 25, 2026) at the first-floor hall of the Management Building on UNAIR’s MERR-C Campus.
UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan S.E. M.Si M.Fin, along with university officials, attended the press conference. During the event, Prof. Madyan said the university accepted 2,771 prospective students, including 470 recipients of the Indonesia Smart College Card (KIP Kuliah) scholarship program, out of a total of 69,620 applicants. “The admission of KIP Kuliah recipients reflects UNAIR’s commitment to inclusive education,” he said.
He also highlighted the diversity of the incoming student body, noting that 64.42% of admitted students are women and that students come from 32 provinces across Indonesia. The figures, he said, demonstrate that UNAIR remains one of the country’s top university destinations. “Although we are based in East Java, UNAIR attracts students from across Java all the way to West Papua. This shows that the spirit of ‘excellence with morality’ has spread throughout Indonesia,” he added.

Competitiveness and average SNBT scores
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan S.E. M.Si M.Fin, said the Undergraduate Medical Program remained the most competitive among bachelor’s degree programs. Competition in the vocational pathway, however, proved even tougher than in the undergraduate category. “The Undergraduate Medical Program recorded an acceptance rate of 3.11%, followed by the FIKKIA Medical Program at 3.67% and Psychology at 3.98%. In the vocational category, the three-year Nursing Diploma Program was the most competitive at 1.15%, followed by the Digital Business Accounting Applied Bachelor’s Program at 1.20%,” he explained.
Prof. Madyan added that the Undergraduate Medical Program posted the highest average SNBT score at 730.45 in the science track, while Accounting recorded the highest average score in the social sciences track at 684.33. In the vocational category, the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Occupational Safety and Health (K3) achieved the highest average score at 659.76. “From year to year, the undergraduate medical program continues to hold the highest average score at Universitas Airlangga,” he said.
Prof. Madyan emphasized that the admissions process at UNAIR was conducted fairly and free from cheating. Achmad Solihin, Head of UNAIR’s Student Admissions Center (PPMB), said the university had intensified preventive measures against fraud, which has frequently emerged during the admissions process. “We made extensive preparations, including metal detector screenings, document verification, facial verification, and several other mechanisms,” Solihin told the press conference.
