UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has once again demonstrated excellence in financial governance. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Surabaya I State Treasury Service Office (KPPN), honoured UNAIR with the First-Ranked Best Work Unit Award for its Budget Implementation Performance Indicator (IKPA) achievement in the first semester of 2026 under the State Universities with Legal Entity (PTN BH) category in East Java Province.
UNAIR Director of Finance, Prof Dr Hamidah SE MSi Ak, welcomed the award with gratitude. According to her, the achievement is more than just a form of recognition. It also reflects the trust placed in UNAIR’s accountable, transparent, timely, and good governance based budget management.
“This award is the result of the collective efforts of all work units across Universitas Airlangga. We believe that successful budget management is achieved through the collaboration of every faculty and work unit, not solely the Directorate of Finance,” she said.
Collaboration as the key to success
Prof Hamidah explained that UNAIR’s achievement was built through a consistent and well-structured process, covering budget planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The Directorate of Finance has continuously strengthened coordination with all faculties and work units to ensure that every stage of budget implementation is carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations
In addition, the finance team routinely monitors budget realisation, enabling them to promptly address any issues that arise. UNAIR also places strong emphasis on the quality of cash planning by preparing realistic and measurable Fund Withdrawal Plans (RPD) to ensure that funding requirements remain aligned with programme implementation.
In addition, the Directorate of Finance ensures that payments are processed on time, maintains the quality of financial data, and assists work units in complying with administrative requirements. “Through these measures, we strive to maintain the effectiveness of budget implementation while ensuring that all performance indicators are achieved successfully,” she said
Strengthening sustainable governance
Prof Hamidah emphasised that maintaining this achievement requires an even greater commitment than attaining it in the first place. Therefore, the Directorate of Finance is not only focused on maintaining its Budget Implementation Performance Indicator (IKPA) score, but also on continuously improving the overall quality of financial governance.
Going forward, UNAIR will further strengthen the digitalisation of its financial business processes, enhance the quality of budget planning, and build the capacity of its human resources in financial management. The Directorate of Finance will also continue to strengthen coordination with all work units to ensure that every stage of budget implementation is carried out more effectively and in a more targeted manner.
According to her, budget management is not merely aimed at meeting performance indicators, but also at supporting improvements in education, research, and community service. “We hope that sound budget management will continue to support Universitas Airlangga in achieving its vision of becoming a world-class university that delivers meaningful benefits to society,” she concluded.
