UNAIR NEWS – The Sustainable Community Service Institute (LPMB) of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a Coordination Meeting for Monitoring the Implementation of the 2026 Patriot Expedition Team Program and Strengthening Cooperation on Friday (August 7, 2026). Held in Room 305, Kahuripan Building, 3rd Floor, UNAIR MERR-C Campus, the meeting served as an opportunity to evaluate and optimize the governance of community service programs across various target areas.
UNAIR Patriot PIC Dr Puji Karyanto SS MHum opened the forum by presenting a progress report and discussing the field dynamics encountered by the UNAIR Patriot Expedition Team.
Positive reception and regional support
In his presentation, Puji Karyanto stated that after completing the briefing and official deployment ceremony in Jakarta, all personnel of the UNAIR Patriot Expedition Team had safely arrived at their respective community service locations. The field teams received a warm welcome from both the local communities and regional government authorities.

“Coordination and synergy in the field have been very conducive. The Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), police personnel, and elements of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) have actively provided assistance and welcomed our team to the areas where we are carrying out community service, including island regions and Papua,” said Karyanto.
He added that the active involvement of local authorities had greatly supported the team’s adaptation process and accelerated the implementation of operational activities at various target locations.

In addition to discussing the reception of the teams at their respective community service locations, the coordination meeting focused on harmonizing technical administrative procedures, budget disbursement mechanisms, and tax deduction procedures between the schemes applied by the ministry and the internal regulations of higher education institutions.
Karyanto highlighted the importance of discussions with financial officials and the ministry to align technical understanding. Key topics included adjustments to the fund disbursement scheme, the allocation of operational support, such as the provision of anti-malaria medication for personnel in high-risk areas, as well as the management of honorarium disbursements for field personnel.
“As this is the first year that we have been fully entrusted with managing this responsibility, direct coordination such as this is crucial. We want to ensure that administrative aspects, the legality of fund disbursements, and the fulfillment of the rights of students and Patriot personnel in the field are carried out transparently, properly, and in accordance with regulations,” he emphasized.
Implementing team rotation system
The coordination meeting also evaluated the management of assignments and personnel rotations in the Papua region. UNAIR has implemented a shift rotation mechanism to maintain the continuity of the team’s presence in the assigned areas without creating operational gaps.
“So, we divided the team into two groups. Some have already departed, while others will depart at a later time, so that the program can be carried out effectively and the personnel can be distributed across the assigned areas,” he explained.
Through this monitoring forum, UNAIR continues to improve the effectiveness of its support and supervision scheme and ensure the smooth implementation of all stages of the 2026 Patriot Expedition Program until the assignment period concludes.
