UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) along with PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) organized a guest lecture titled “Sharpening Your Edge: Skills and Attitude for the Next Chapter”. This event featured the Director of BCA, Antonius Widodo Mulyono, and was held at the Ternate Hall, ASEEC Tower, Dharmawangsa-B Campus, UNAIR, on October 9, 2026.

This event aimed to share experiences related to leadership, business world, and knowledge collaboration in facing the changing of times. Moreover, this event represented collaboration between the university and business world in responding to the needs of time.

On this occasion, the Rector of UNAIR, Prof Dr Muhammad Madyan SE MSi MFin, delivered his speech in front of 700 students in attendance. Prof Madyan emphasized the students to take advantage of off-campus learning opportunities and use their willingness to continue learning as a driving force for growth.

Prof Madyan noted that technological advancement, digital transformation, and changing demands in the workplace require students to constantly adapt. To meet these demands, students must have the ability to collaborate, think critically, make decisions, learn, and have an attitude grounded in moral principles.

Therefore, Prof Madyan expressed his appreciation to the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program. This program provides a platform for students to develop leadership skills that enable them to adapt to change, make decisions, build teams, and be prepared to face challenges, as well as gaining understanding of the working world.

Prof Madyan emphasized the importance of collaboration between university and the business world. “The synergy between university and the business world is a crucial part in preparing excellent human resources. University builds foundation in science and character, while the business world provides experience and real perspective of professional work settings,” he said.

Prof Madyan believes that the learning process does not only exist in the classroom, but also through the professional world. “Students should have the opportunity to interact with the professional world, put their knowledge into practice, and learn from facing various real-world challenges,” he added.

Prof Madyan encouraged the students to actively ask and pay attention to the experiences shared by the speaker. Hopefully, this will serve as knowledge and foundation to continue developing themselves and stepping forward.

To conclude, Prof Madyan expressed his hope that this program will create leaders who are not only successful as individuals but also capable of making tangible contributions for the society, the nation, and the world as we move toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
