UNAIR NEWSUniversitas Airlangga held Graduation 242 ceremony on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus. During this event, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, Rector of Universitas Airlangga, conferred degrees to the 1,029 graduates across doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s, and vocational programs.

In his address, Prof. Nasih urged the graduates not to view graduation as the end of their learning journey. “We invite you all to be grateful for this moment. However, graduation should not signify the end of learning but rather a brief pause to pursue further knowledge,” he emphasized.

He stressed that learning is essential for adapting effectively to society and responding to changing times, asserting that the sacrifices made during the educational process are invaluable. Prof. Nasih also encouraged the graduates to maintain confidence as they enter the workforce, highlighting that the time spent learning serves as an investment.

“When you dedicate time to learning, it is an investment in yourself. I believe the return depends on the sacrifices made—not just material sacrifices, but also the time and dedication to set aside temporary pleasures,” he explained.

In addition to encouraging lifelong learning, Prof. Nasih proudly announced UNAIR’s achievement in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, where the university secured the 81st position globally. He attributed this success to the dedication and collaborative efforts of the UNAIR academic community.

“Many overlook the fact that universities are not solely centers of learning but also have a commitment to research and community service. Thanks to UNAIR’s dedication in these areas, we have achieved a notable impact ranking,” he concluded.
