UNAIR NEWS – Muhammad Nurul Wasol is a graduate of the Dental Technology program at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Class of 1998. Despite the limited campus facilities and infrastructure at the time, he showed a high level of dedication to his education. Even with basic tools, he never let that stand in the way of mastering various dental fabrication techniques. Instead, these challenges fueled his drive to gain a deeper understanding of the dental health field.

Wasol began his professional career while still in his final year of college, using his free time to take on part-time work. The experience he gained while working in a dental laboratory taught him valuable lessons, such as how to set up and manage one.

Working together with colleagues, he laid the initial foundation for the business that would become known as Kurnia Dental Lab. The collaboration process was far from easy, often navigating differing perspectives among business partners.

He maintained consistency in producing high-quality work to uphold excellence in partnering with the dental industry, preserving professionalism, and delivering the best restorative outcomes for patients. This long journey eventually paid off, reflected in the steady growth of the business over time.

Changes in regulations and legal structure, shifting from a Commanditaire Vennootschap (CV) to a Limited Liability Company (PT), were made to expand the scope of services and offer a more professional approach. The name change to Faaz Dental was carried out as part of a rebranding strategy to align with the laboratory’s future vision and mission. This step reflects Faaz Dental’s ability to adapt to the times while remaining committed to providing the best dental services to the wider public to this day.

Wasol emphasizes that everyone has the capacity to achieve success through small, consistent steps taken each day. The twists and turns of life are often beyond our control. However, good habits, practiced regularly, can foster a mindset that supports the pursuit of larger goals.

“You can’t change your life or the direction of the wind, but it’s the small changes you make that transform you,” Wasol said. This never-give-up mentality and determination to keep striving are especially valuable for students and alumni navigating and competing in the professional healthcare field.
