UNAIR NEWS – The management of the Student Executive Board of the Student Family (BEM KM) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has officially changed. Through the General Election (Pemilihan Raya/Pemira), Revo Haedar Elmirza from the 2023 cohort was elected as president. Meanwhile, Siti Nur Rohmawatil Ula from the 2024 cohort was elected as vice president. The pair introduces the name Cakra Karya Cabinet as the identity of the new leadership.
Elmirza explained that the name Cakra Karya represents a spirit of movement oriented toward meaningful impact. “Cakra means a wheel that continues to rotate and move in a positive direction, while karya reflects our hope to produce tangible impact for the entire KM FKH FKH UNAIR community,” he said.
VetScope as flagship program
During this leadership period, the flagship program being promoted is VetScope. The program is designed to provide a direct overview of career prospects and academic fields that align with veterinary medicine in the professional world.
According to Elmirza, VetScope is expected to help students understand the realities of the profession more comprehensively. “We believe this program will have a significant impact on KM FKH because students can directly learn about the prospects and scientific fields of veterinary medicine in real workplaces,” he explained. Through this program, students are expected to map out their competency development and career readiness from an early stage.
“Kompas” as direction and identity of Cakra Karya Cabinet
One distinctive aspect of the Cakra Karya Cabinet compared with previous cabinets lies in its emphasis on organizational values called “Kompas.” The term stands for Collaborative, Objective, Empowering, Productive, Accountable, and Solution-oriented, which serve as guiding principles in every step taken by the cabinet.
In addition, the cabinet also implements the 5R Organizational Work Culture: Respect to Time, Respect to Communication, Respect to Process, Respect to Yourself, and Respect to Others. Elmirza noted that this work culture aims to create a more structured, transparent, and evaluation-based system so that each program can run optimally.
Through the Cakra Karya Cabinet, BEM KM FKH also aims to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through community service, academic support, as well as collaboration in scientific activities and student development. “We hope KM FKH UNAIR can become a solid, supportive community that has the courage to grow together,” Elmirza concluded.
