UNAIR NEWS – The executive board of the Civil Services Wives Association (DWP) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the ASEEC Tower Building, Dharmawangsa-B Campus, UNAIR. The inauguration was held concurrently with the Inauguration of the DWP Executive Boards of State Universities (PTN) and DWP Educational Service Institutions throughout Indonesia for the 2024–2029 term. This inauguration served as strategic steps in strengthening coordination, clarifying leadership structures, and fostering synergy among DWP organizations within the higher education community.

The establishment of the UNAIR DWP is officially documented in Decree No. 096 of 2025. UNAIR DWP is one of the 21 DWP organizations at state universities established in this second batch, with a total of 699 approved board members. In the previous Batch 1, 89 DWP organizations were inaugurated with 2,820 board members, thereby forming a very extensive network of women’s organizations within the ministry.

In his remarks, the Chairwoman of the DWP at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), Anisa Pramudita Badri Munir Sukoco, conveyed her congratulations. She also provided important guidance to the executive board members. She encouraged all of the DWP executive members to reflect on the legacy they wish to leave behind at the end of their term.

“I’m grateful to be part of this big family with such a wide variety of experiences, achievements, and a spirit of service. I hope that today’s event will mark the beginning of our journey to grow closer, learn from one another, and become stronger as we move forward together,” she said.

Furthermore, Sukoco wondered how to offer something more meaningful than just a list of completed activities, such as members who are becoming more empowered, families that are growing stronger, closer-knit networks, and benefits that are truly felt by the surrounding community.

“I think this is the question we need to keep in mind as the starting point of our mission, a mission to ensure that this organization not only exists but is also active, not only has a structure but is also capable of taking action, not only develops programs but also delivers tangible benefits,” she emphasized.

Sukoco believes that DWP has a very extensive network. As a result, when facing challenges, there will be opportunities to learn from one another, help one another, and support one another. She emphasized that the strength of an organization is not determined solely on how many programs it carries out, but by the extent of the benefits that can be achieved collectively.

“Benefits are not always started from something big. Sometimes they grow from a simple thing, such as members who are becoming more empowered, a family receiving support, or a good idea that takes shape through collective effort. That’s where an organization’s become meaningful and impactful,” she explained.

By this inauguration, UNAIR DWP is ready to fulfill its strategic role in strengthening members’ empowerment and supporting the advancement of higher education institutions. This commitment was hopefully able to create various innovative program that will give positive impacts and real benefits for a broader range of society.
