Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) welcomed a delegation of senior leaders from Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu University on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the Balairua Plenary Meeting Room in the Management Office on UNAIR’s MERR-C Campus. The two universities explored opportunities for academic collaboration and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the visit.
UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin., described the signing of the MoU as an important first step. “This agreement goes beyond a formal commitment. It offers a meaningful opportunity to broaden our perspectives and open new avenues for academic collaboration,” he said.
Zhetysu University Rector Prof. Yermek Buribayev expressed hope that the partnership would strengthen ties between Indonesia and Kazakhstan through joint research and sustained academic development.
The two universities agreed to establish student and faculty exchanges, co-host international conferences, and pursue joint research across their faculties.
