UNAIR NEWS – To strengthen students’ career readiness and professional competence, the D4 Digital Archives and Information (KID) Program at the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), held an interactive seminar titled Roadshow Arsip BI Goes to Campus 2026. The event took place at the NANO Building, UNAIR’s MERR-C Campus on Monday (May 11, 2026).
The program began with opening remarks from Dr. Andi Estetiono, S.E., M.M., Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Vocational Studies. He described the initiative as a platform for academic knowledge exchange through the “Bank Indonesia Mengajar” program. Through this strategic partnership, members of the D4 KID academic community were encouraged to deepen their understanding of national archival governance while gaining insight into internship opportunities within the financial industry.
Connecting academic learning with professional practice
The roadshow featured guest speakers from Bank Indonesia’s Central Office, who delivered comprehensive presentations on archival management within the institution. The sessions covered Bank Indonesia’s vision, mission, organizational structure, modern archival technologies, and the various national recognitions the institution has received in the field of archival management.
The educational program was specifically intended for D4 KID students from the 2024 and 2025 cohorts, as students from the 2023 cohort are currently participating in industry internship placements.
“We intentionally introduced the ‘Bank Indonesia Mengajar’ program to bridge classroom learning with real-world professional practice. The materials presented by the Bank Indonesia Central Office team were highly detailed and comprehensive. Our students gained a thorough understanding of how modern archival governance is implemented within a key national institution,” said Khoirun Ni’mah, Head of KID Student Association.
Expanding career opportunities in data journalism and communication
In addition to enhancing students’ academic knowledge, the event also introduced a range of career pathways in areas such as data journalism, integrated information management, and archive-based visual communication. A dedicated internship information session from Bank Indonesia further encouraged students to begin preparing professional portfolios for future opportunities.
The combination of digital archival expertise and institutional information governance skills is expected to provide graduates with a strong competitive advantage in strategic sectors.
“The Bank Indonesia internship socialization program has created a meaningful long-term impact. It has encouraged KID students to confidently pursue professional careers and prepare themselves as modern archivists who are capable, competent, and adaptable to advances in information technology,” she said in a post-event interview.
Strengthening international reach and global partnerships
As an adaptive applied bachelor’s program, D4 KID UNAIR continues to expand its presence both nationally and internationally. Through collaborations with prominent institutions such as Bank Indonesia, the program aims to strengthen students’ competitiveness and prepare them for opportunities in the global arena.
Beyond serving as an academic enrichment initiative, the successful roadshow also marked an important milestone in reinforcing the program’s institutional identity despite its relatively recent establishment.
“As a study program that was founded only about three years ago, major initiatives like this are extremely important. We hope the D4 KID UNAIR program will continue to strengthen its public recognition and reputation. At the same time, the positive outcomes and tangible impact of this event are expected to contribute to improving the program’s accreditation status in the future,” the source concluded.
