UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) secured impressive achievements at the 38th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS), held at Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS). Competing against 167 universities nationwide, UNAIR won four major awards and placed ninth overall. Awards in presentation category
UNAIR collected two awards in the presentation category. The first, a silver medal, was earned by the PKM-RSH 2 team led by Fadiani Risqita Mamang. Their project, “Roleplay to Sexplay: Unmasking Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA) Hidden Behind Virtual Roleplay,” explores how online roleplay activities can conceal digital child exploitation. The research underscores the growing need for stronger online protection for children and teens.
The PKM-RSH 1 team also received the “Favorite Winner” award for their project, “Revitalizing Ludruk as a Tool for Psychoeducation and a Driver for Wellness Tourism Using Expressive Arts Therapy to Support the Mental Health of Older Adolescents in Surabaya.” The work merges traditional ludruk theater with modern expressive arts therapy to introduce a fresh approach to youth mental-health education.
Awards in poster category
UNAIR continued its strong performance in the poster category, with the PKM-RE 1 team led by Dinar Rheina R winning a gold medal. Their project developed a chitosan/ gelatin/ polyacrylamide-based hydrogel adhesive enhanced with tannic acid as a potential tissue-adhesive solution for repairing tympanic membrane perforations. The innovation contributes meaningfully to advancing safer, more effective biomedical materials.

Meanwhile, the PKM-K1 team added to UNAIR’s accomplishments by securing a bronze medal with Curhatorium, a gamified peer-support platform designed to strengthen youth mental well-being. Led by Usamah, the team introduced a digital support system that blends peer interaction and gamification to better meet the needs of today’s digital generation.
The four medals reflect the ability of UNAIR students to produce strategic, research-driven, and innovative ideas. UNAIR remains committed to enhancing its student research environment through intensive mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic facilities that foster the development of high-quality work at both national and international levels.
