UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) strengthened its global connection by participating in The 3rd Indonesia – Kano Expo 2026. The event took place from Wednesday to Saturday, July 1–4, 2026, at the Afficent Centre in Kano, Nigeria. UNAIR’s participation in this expo serves as a strategic move to broaden its higher education promotion while recruiting prospective international students.
Dr. Fadjar Mulya, S.Si., M.Sc., Coordinator of the Student Admission Center (PPMB), served as the UNAIR delegate who successfully captured the attention of visitors since the opening day. The UNAIR booth became one of the primary information hubs for the people of Kano aspiring to pursue their studies in Indonesia.
Enthusiasm from prospective students
Dr. Mulya revealed that more than 50 visitors demonstrated great enthusiasm and expressed their interest in continuing their education at UNAIR. This reflects the immense trust the international community places in the quality of education provided by UNAIR.
“The enthusiasm of the visitors since the first day the exhibition opened has been truly extraordinary. Most of them are actively seeking study opportunities through various international scholarship schemes available at UNAIR, such as the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) scholarship, the Airlangga Development Scholarship (ADS), and TIAS,” he stated in a live report from Kano.
Ambassador’s appreciation
UNAIR’s participation in this international exhibition received high praise from the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Nigeria, Bambang Suharto, who is also a FISIP UNAIR alumnus. He expressed his immense pride in his alma mater’s concrete contribution to expanding educational networks on a global scale.
“UNAIR’s presence at the Kano Expo is a tangible testament to the university’s commitment to broadening the global impact of Indonesian education,” he remarked.
Strengthening academic footprint in Nigeria
Prior to this event, UNAIR had already conducted various collaborative activities at Bayero University, Kano, since February 2026. Continuing this collaboration, Fadjar also served as a guest lecturer on nanochemistry at Bayero University on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Through its participation in both the guest lecture and the international exhibition, UNAIR not only introduces its educational programs to prospective students but also reinforces its long-term commitment to expanding its academic network worldwide.
