UNAIR NEWS – The 3rd International Summer School, 2022 Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Higher Education (AIPHE) officially started on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) of Universitas Airlangga hosted the annual AIPHE event.
Faculty of Pharmacy hosted the Summer School with Universitas Surabaya, Universitas Widya Mandala, and Universitas Jember, which explored the Soul of Jamu and Bromo Cultural Remedies this year.
Head of Regional Forum IV of AIPHE Prof apt Junaidi Khotib MKes PhD stated that some international students participated in the summer school.
“The 2-week event is an attempt of AIPHE for pharmacy in Indonesia to achieve standards and global recognition,” he said.
The Summer School consists of workshops, practical classes, fieldwork, and herbal medicine industry visit in Tengger, Bromo. The Chairman of AIPHE, Prof Dr apt Daryono Hadi Tjahjono MSc Eng, delivered his opening speech to start the event.
Prof Daryono emphasized the huge opportunity of summer school in networking, knowledge development, communication, language, and practical experience in a pharmacy. “Please enjoy!” he said.

The event was followed by a studium generale from four international speakers, Prof Daryono, Dr. Ram Kumar Sahu from India, Prof Dr. Katsuyoshi Matsumahi from Japan, and Associate Prof Dr. Kornkanok Ingkaninan from Thailand.
This year, the Summer School was held together with the 2022 Airlangga Short Course Learning in Pharmaceutical Natural Product Use (Asclepius). Approximately 54 participants attended the event, with 1,373 others virtually present.
They came from Indonesia, Egypt, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Timor-Leste, Bangladesh, China, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Laos, Philippines, Iran, India, Kenya, Turkey, and Uganda.
